School Policy For Illness

 

GUIDELINES FOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES:
Children with an infectious or contagious disease should stay home until the danger of transmitting the disease has passed.

FEVER: (100.0 DEGREES or greater): student must be free of fever for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of fever reducing medications. (i.e. acetaminophen, ibuprofen) 

STREP THROAT: re-admit after 24 hours from date antibiotic treatment started.

HEAD LICE: Students with live lice/bugs will be sent home and must be checked and cleared by the nurse for re-admittance.

VOMITING or DIARRHEA: your child should stay at home if they have these symptoms during the night or in the morning. Students who get sent home from school must be free from vomiting and/or diarrhea for 24 hours before returning to school without the use of medication.

PINK EYE (CONJUNCTIVITIS): re-admit with doctors note.
