Homework Policy and Helpful Links

Reading daily is crucial in helping your child practice and master reading skills and techniques that are taught and used daily in the classroom.
Please set aside 20 minutes a day to sit by your child and listen to them read.

Practicing spelling skills and patterns while reading and in isolation are also important skills that should be practiced daily. You can do this with words in books that your child is reading and/or use flash cards for spelling and sight words.

Working on handwriting in print is another daily task that can be practiced at home with your child. You can use dry erase boards, notebook paper/spirals, workbook practice sheets, apps, etc.

Math fact practice is important to optimize speed and accuracy. More math work can be requested by the parent or required by the teacher if necessary.
